The Philippine government has made it easier for overseas Filipino workers to access financial assistance as the Middle East crisis continues to affect jobs and income, the Philippine News Agency reported.
Recent updates show that more than 30,000 OFWs have already received various forms of support, including financial aid, food, and shelter services.
As of April 17, 2026, DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said that 4,502 OFWs from the Middle East have been provided with financial assistance.

Who Is Eligible for Financial Assistance
You may apply if your work situation has changed due to the crisis:
- You lost your job
- Your salary was reduced
- Your working hours were cut
- Your company temporarily stopped operations
How Much Assistance You Will Receive
Qualified applicants will receive a one-time $200 (around ₱12,000).
