What is the OWWA Information Technology (IT) Training Program?

The Information Technology (IT) Training Program offers free training for OWWA members and their qualified dependents who want to improve their IT skills. This covers a variety of topics, including basic computer operations, digital media arts, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, desktop publishing, and video editing.

Facing a digital divide with nearly half lacking internet access, Filipinos need tools to thrive. The IT Training Program steps in, offering free IT skills development to bridge the gap. This equips Filipinos, especially OFWs and their families, with basic computer knowledge to access online opportunities. Eligibility and Qualifications

The IT Training Program is open to active and inactive OWWA members, as well as their qualified dependents. Qualified dependents include:

  • The spouse of a married OWWA member or the single parent of a member
  • A child of an OWWA member who is under the age of 20, single, and has completed high school
  • A sibling of an OWWA member who is under the age of 20, single, and has completed high school

Requirements

To apply for the IT Training Program, you will need to submit the following documents:

  • A completed application form
  • Proof of membership
  • Valid ID for the applicant and the member
  • Documentation proving the applicant’s relationship to the OWWA member (if applicable)

How to Apply

  1. Visit your designated OWWA Regional or Satellite Office or an Informatics branch near you.
  2. Pick up an application form and complete the required sections.
  3. Attach copies of all required documents to your application form.
  4. Submit your application to the Regional or Satellite Office or the Informatics branch where you picked it up.
  5. Wait for a confirmation message regarding your application from an authorized person.
