What is SWDL-Net?

The Social Welfare and Development Learning Network (SWDL-Net) is a collaborative network of agencies, schools, organizations, and individuals. 

These members provide and conduct training and capacity-building programs in social welfare and development. 

The primary focus is on poverty alleviation and social protection. 

SWDL-Net envisions a network offering accessible, relevant, and quality capacity-building programs.

Its mission is to enhance the capabilities of those involved in social welfare, particularly in poverty alleviation and social protection.

Goals of DSWD and SWDL-Net

The DSWD and SWDL-Net share several key goals:

  • Provide a learning environment through capacity-building programs to increase competence in social welfare and development.
  • Strengthen collaboration among social welfare practitioners engaged in learning and capacity-building.
  • Utilize intensified social welfare research to develop capacity-building programs tailored to stakeholders’ needs and contribute to the Social Work curriculum enhancement.

Core Group of Specialists (CGS)

SWDL-Net is composed of a Core Group of Specialists (CGS) with expertise in various areas:

  • Social Welfare and Development Policy-Making

Specialists in this area focus on creating and refining policies that guide social welfare programs. They see to it that policies are inclusive, sustainable, and aligned with the needs of vulnerable populations.

  • Social Technology Development

These experts innovate and implement new technologies that improve the delivery of social services. Their work includes developing tools and platforms that enhance efficiency and reach.

  • Standards Development

Professionals in standards development establish benchmarks and guidelines to maintain quality and consistency in social welfare services. They make sure programs meet national and international standards.

  • Compliance Monitoring

  • Knowledge Exchange Center (KEC) at the DSWD Central Office in Quezon City

Additionally, there are Regional Learning Resource Centers (RLRCs) in most Field Offices.
